Qwen Image Edit prompts that stay on target

The simplest formula is: action + target + exact change + what must stay fixed.

Basic pattern

Replace the blue mug with a clear glass of water. Keep the table, lighting, shadows, framing, and aspect ratio unchanged.

Seven rules

These rules give Qwen 2 clearer boundaries. They improve control, but they cannot guarantee a pixel-perfect edit.

  1. 1

    Start with an action

Use a direct verb: add, remove, replace, change, or move. Name the exact object and the exact result you want.

  2. 2

Edit one thing at a time

Do not combine a wardrobe change, new location, camera move, and lighting change in one prompt. Make the first edit, review it, then continue.

  3. 3

    Lock the rest

List what must stay fixed: face, pose, background, framing, lighting, shadows, object positions, or aspect ratio.

  4. 4

    Point to the target

Use position and visual details. Say “the small sign above the door” instead of “the sign.”

  5. 5

    Protect text layout

For text edits, provide the old text and replacement. Ask Qwen 2 to preserve the font, size, color, spacing, perspective, and surface.

  6. 6

    Describe light and camera

Use plain instructions such as “warmer sunset light from the left” or “wider waist-up framing.” Keep the subject and scene fixed when only the camera or light should change.

  7. 7

    Shrink difficult edits

Large pose and perspective changes can still drift. Break them into smaller steps and return to the original image if a result changes too much.

Copy these patterns

Swap in your own object, text, clothing, or lighting direction.

Object

Replace the blue mug with a clear glass of water. Preserve the table, hand position, reflections, shadows, framing, and aspect ratio.

Text

Replace “OPEN” with “LATE NIGHT.” Match the original font, size, color, spacing, perspective, and sign texture. Do not alter the sign or background.

Identity

Change the jacket to a black leather jacket. Preserve the person’s face, hair, body position, expression, hands, background, and lighting.

Lighting

Change the scene to soft golden-hour light coming from the left. Keep the subject, pose, clothing, camera angle, background, and composition unchanged.
